Today's News:

Well this weekend went quick. I can not believe I have one week of classes left. Graduation is getting so close. On Saturday, I had to work for amber. She had to attend Sandy's baby shower. We had to go to a "celebration" for a friend of my dad on Sunday. He passed away last week and we went to wish his family well. It was tough but I am glad we went.

WooHoo! ComingSoon.net has confirmed The Two Towers DVD Release Dates. Read more and see pictures on TheOneRing.net.

Last night SIUE had some Internet network problems. That caused most of the University to not have access for the better part of last night. Hope you missed me.

Interesting News of the Day:

They are at it again. The IL legislation last year passed a law Public Act 92-0728 that is an extension to the DMCA. This is not good people. Soon we will be breaking laws by watching DVDs at home. This has to be stopped. I sent the following letter to my representatives. Look yours up here if you live in IL. Otherwise look around in your own state to make sure this does not happen to you.
I am very concerned that our individual rights are being eroded. I am very concerned about extensions to the DMCA like the Public Act 92-0728 that was passed last year. I am concerned that we are taking this way too far and taking away the fair use rights that we as consumers have. I want you to know that I am opposed to this type of legislation and would like to see some of our consumer rights restored so that individuals will not be prosecuted for what in the past has been termed fair use. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Kade P. Cole

Just heard from a friend of mine, Chris Jones, and he will be in a Live Adaptation of Star Wars in St. Louis. Read more about it here on TheForce.net and at the official announcement here. Hope it goes well and I can get free to attend.

I had to take Am to the dentist the other day. It went well. I feel bad for her having to go through that. My sister-in-law is on schedule for the new baby. It is due next month, I think.
Here is a funny for all you Mac OS X fans.

Jake came today from Ultimate Electronics to install my new satellite dish. He stayed for about two hours and we ran all the new wires. My Tivo is now very happy. I can record two shows at once and watch another. It is great. The Tivo will save us a lot of headaches. Amber sometimes has trouble with the VCR and sometimes the VCR just has trouble. So I was totally fed up and will never go back now. Just fear I will need more than 35 hours of record time soon.
We also had a visit today from Amber's old friend Ray Whitlock. His grandma lives in the house right next door to Amber's parents. He is a chef in Nashville, TN now and is quite good. He has cooked for many people including Keith Urban. Amber was really excited to see him again.

I have good news on the job front, but that will have to wait till I have definite plans. I should have more information next week. Check my blog soon for further updates.

Amber and I arrived home from our farm in the Ozarks on Tuesday. We had a relaxing weekend and enjoyed ourselves. We spent time relaxing and did some antiquing.

Last night I went and picked up a Tivo. It has been great so far. I am sick and tired of my VCR not working right. We will see how it works over the weekend and I will tell you really how I feel about it. It is the Hughes HDVR2 which is an integrated DirecTV and Tivo unit. This allows you to watch one show and record another. I still have to get some more wires run before I can hook up both tuners.

I went to lunch last week with my friend Jason. He is getting ready to start racing again soon. Here is a Picture of his new Racecar:

Amber's party went well today. I cooked dinner and everyone was happy. I am quite the cook I must say :). I spent most of the day watching soccer on Fox Sports World. It is a free weekend on DirecTV and I am enjoying all the channels.

It is storming a little around here. I am looking forward to the kickoff of the 2003 MLS season. It starts on Saturday. Everyone should be watching ABC. We need to support our local soccer. Amber is also hosting a Creative Memories party on Sunday. I will be trying to stay out of the way.

Happy day after April Fools day. Not much fooling going on around here. Amber and I are planning a trip to the farm soon. We are both looking forward to some time off and relaxing in the Ozarks. I am in the process of writing a paper for my English class. I have been really slacking in that class but I will get by.
