The marvels of modern science, I can not believe we can create such amazing things. The worst part is that we have to use them. I hope that in the future we can avoid having to see images like this. Lets all hope for an ending of this war soon.

I hate to dwell but this blog is about my life. It seems the war is all I talk about these days. Whether or not you agree with the war effort, I hope that you support the troops dying to keep us safe. I do. I have been spending a lot of time reading blogs about the war and have found some great ones. Visit Warblogs.cc for a good listing of some. My favorite right now is The Agonist. It has very up to date news stories. Another good one is Back to Iraq 2.0. This is from an independent journalist who is heading to the war to cover it from there. Check these out and keep in touch.

This war will likely be much longer than anyone anticipates. I have spent the whole weekend trying to watch and trying not to watch the war coverage. There is intense coverage on TV. It is very, very sad that it had to come to this. Do not get me wrong though, I 100 percent support our troops and our country in this war effort. It is sad though and makes you think long and hard about the effects of war when you see images like this.

Bombs Bombs everywhere. The WAR is definitely underway. It is hard to get away from. It is all over the TV and Web. I am sad that we had to go to war but glad that it will be over soon. Saddam is a bad, bad man and has needed to be removed from power for a LONG time.

It appears now that it is inevitable that the USA will be going to war with Iraq. This is very troublesome to a lot of Americans including myself. No one ever wants to have to go to war over anything. This was a really difficult decision on the behalf of our president, George W. Bush. I will support the war effort because I am an American and in my heart I know there was no other way, after 12 years, that we could get Saddam to surrender. I just wish there was another way.

We had a very busy Sunday. Amber and I went to my parents for lunch. It was a nice dinner with my grandparents. We had corned beef and cabbage. It was good. Then we watched the end of the race. It was a VERY close finish this week at Darlington, SC. Then we went over to Amber's grandma's house and had dinner. It was nice to visit with everyone. Amber's cousin Rene was visiting from NC. Rene just had a new baby, Caleb Jeffery. He is cute.

Tomorrow is the State of the State address for IL. You can listen on KWMU. As I am employed by the state I am very interested and will be listening to see if there is any good news for IL.

Tonight was my first test in my VB.NET class. I feel pretty good about it. I think I did really well. We will see. Next week is spring break at SIUE. I will be off from all my classes but still have to work. Well at least that is a little break.

Amber and I visited Girard, IL this weekend and visited Fern Hollow. Amber met the lady who owns this store online and has been communicating with her for a while now. Fern Hollow is closing their store and we purchased some of their display cabinets. They were a great deal and will make a nice addition to the shop.
