Four Hollywood Studios Back HD DVD Format | Extremetech. It looks like we will have another DVD format war on our hands. DVD +/- was enough and now we have HD DVD vs. Blu-Ray. Great! Oh well neither is really available yet so we will have to wait and see. I can not wait for this whole HD transition to be over with.

TiVo does a dumb, dumb | Lockergnome.com. Looks like you will have to work harder now to get away from ads on a TiVo. This is not good news.

State of the Art: Dream TV Screen, Now in Size Large | NYTimes.com. Looks like LCD tv is coming into size. I am just about ready to take the leap and purchase a medium size HDTV. I am looking around 30-40" and it must have a built-in tuner and wide-screen display. Oh and it must be affordable.

This weekend we celebrated my grandparents birthdays. My grandfather turned 90 and my grandmother turned 84. They are in remarkable shape for their ages. My grandfather still cuts down trees and chops his own wood. My grandmother takes care of the house and all things. Happy birthday grandma and grandpa!

Yasser Arafat's death: Your reaction | BBC NEWS. I have long thought that there would be no peace without significant change in this region. I am not going to point blame but hope that whoever replaces Arafat will deal more seriously with the situation and try to maintain the peace.

Young Girl: Sodomy is not a civil right | Warblogging.com. Is it a wonder why this country is so divided. Look at how our youth is raised. People have to be taught to hate. This is just not right. No matter how you feel please raise your children to have their own opinions and not your opinions pressed upon them.

I am glad to hear that Ashcroft is gone. I am very interested in who will replace him. I hope we can get someone who is a little more liberal.

Wal-Mart drops online DVD rental prices to a new low | CD Freaks.com. Seems now is the best time to be an online DVD rental user. I was a member of NetFlix a while back, but left when they raised their rates. Now it might be time to join again.

Peter Jackson's Production Diary of King Kong | KongisKing.net. stumbled on this today. This is the director of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy and it seems he is doing a new version of King Kong with Jack Black and other actors.

Firefox 1.0 final released | MacMinute News. Every windows user should download and use this as their primary browser. No more Internet Explorer.

This weekend was a lot of outdoor work. I got the Ford 8N running again. Just needed to replace the spark plugs. She started right up. Used it to brush-hog the back and pull out some old fence-post. It will be a big help this winter. I plan a lot of brush clearing and getting the old back-lot into shape. Hopefully one day it will be cleared for us to build a new house.

Bush Could Soon Name Rehnquist Successor | NPR. One of the reasons I did not vote for Bush was the fact that he will need to appoint new supreme court justices this session. I am very afraid that we will get a very conservative appointment and that will sway the dynamics of the court to the conservative side of the road.

E-vote technology at center stage amid election hype, hysteria | Computerworld. It starts now. Personally I would never vote on a purely electronic voting machine. We use optical balloting in my precinct and I am perfectly comfortable with that form of voting because there is a paper trail to keep the machines in check.
