Engineering

Industry-leading firms from around the region, nation and the world recruit School of Engineering graduates. With a state-of-the-art facility, highly qualified faculty, and active partnerships with area industries and agencies, students prepare for challenging careers in engineering, computer science, and construction management.

Pharmacy

As the only downstate Illinois Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program, the SIUE School of Pharmacy is addressing the growing need in Southern and Central Illinois, as well as the nation at large, for well-trained pharmacists in a career field that is experiencing rapid and dramatic growth.

Nursing

The SIUE School of Nursing is a dynamic place to learn and prepare for a rewarding career in healthcare. The School is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, the gold standard for baccalaureate and graduate degree nursing programs. Students have access to one of the most technologically advanced simulated learning centers in the region.

Library

SIUE Library and Information Services (LIS) is instrumental in supporting research and technological advancements; nationally-recognized LIS employees play a prominent role in the success of Illinois libraries. Home to Lovejoy Library and Academic Computing, LIS sets itself apart from its peers through its leadership in technology, impressive special and digital collections, and innovative services.

Graduate School

The SIUE Graduate School offers master’s and post-baccalaureate certificates in 30 different disciplines. Students prepare for the challenges of their profession in a rich, intellectual learning environment emphasizing research and practice. SIUE ranks among the top 25 master’s only granted institutions in the U.S. in terms of the amount of federal research and development expenditures.

Education

The SIUE School of Education offers degree options in psychology, speech pathology/ audiology, exercise/wellness and a variety of teacher preparation areas. Students blend their classroom experiences with field experience in rural, urban and metropolitan settings, all within 35 miles of campus.

Dental Medicine

The SIU School of Dental Medicine is rated among top dental schools in the nation in final scoring on national board dental exams. As the only dental school in Illinois outside Cook County, and the only dental school within 250 miles of the St. Louis Metropolitan Area, the School serves as a vital oral healthcare provider for Southern Illinois.

Business

The SIUE School of Business is among an elite 10 percent of business schools worldwide that have earned the prestigious seal of approval from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). Only 30 percent of all business schools in the U.S. are accredited by the AACSB.

Athletics

SIUE Intercollegiate Athletics is currently transitioning to NCAA Division I status. SIUE won both the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) All-Sports Trophy and the Commissioner’s Cup for the 2006-07 season and placed 11th in the U.S. Sports Academy Directors’ Cup among NCAA Division II schools. The softball team captured its first National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II championship in May 2007.

Arts and Sciences

The SIUE College of Arts and Sciences combines foundational education with diverse and highly-specialized coursework. Faculty help students explore diversity of ideas, experiences and people while learning to think and live as fulfilled, productive members of a global society. The College offers 44 degree programs in the arts, humanities and social and natural sciences.

East St. Louis Center

With a focus on empowering people and strengthening communities, the SIUE East St. Louis Center is dedicated to improving the lives of families and individuals in East St. Louis and surrounding urban communities. Health care services, a charter high school, Head Start/Early Head Start and other educational programs offer individuals renewed hope and an opportunity to reach their potential and their educational and career goals.
