Students worked with engineers at Juneau Associates, Inc., P.C. to design a stormwater diversion system west of Missouri Avenue in Granite City, Illinois that will remove stormwater inflow into the existing combined sewer system. The project included developing and evaluating viable alternatives, preparing the hydraulic design of the selected stormwater diversion option, design of the selected diversion system geometrics and layout, design of interconnected percolation basins, design of the railway crossings, review of existing environmental conditions, review and implementing typical permitting requirements, and finalizing design to minimize environmental impacts.

Students worked with engineers at Cannon Design to design an enclosed pedestrian link bridge connecting a new hospital to a link hospital in Rockford, IL based on ASCE 7-16 for gravity and lateral conditions. The design elements included gravity loads, lateral loads, structural members, footings, connections, elevations and sections.

Students worked with engineers at Crawford, Murphy & Tilly Engineers & Consultants to design a new roadway from Goshen Road (just west of I-55) to approximately 0.4 miles north through greenfield and ending at a logical endpoint to tie into an adjacent project. This new corridor accommodates the entrances of the Sports Park site plan. Consideration of drainage requirements was required due to the limited amount of existing drainage features. The design elements included pavement design, vertical alignment, cross section, drainage system, horizontal alignment, ROW, intersection details, traffic controls, pavement markings.
