Qualifications

• Major should include coursework in any of the following: sciences (i.e., chemistry; biology), environmental studies, public health, or occupational health and safety.
• Basic understanding of Environmental Health and Safety Management.

Position Description

• Understand and assess regulatory, safety and environmental hazards at an educational and research institution.
• Provide Environmental Program support: including Wastewater, Waste, and Air compliance.
• Provide General, Chemical, Laboratory, and Occupational Safety program support.
• Undertake projects directed at specific topics such as equipment safety and inspection, occupational ergonomics, regulatory compliance, and tracking employee training & education
• Provide EHS support for day-to-day operations, assisting with a compliance specialist or safety officer conducting safety walk throughs and audits or delivering safety trainings to employees. participate in analyses of workplace incidents and help drive corrective actions
