Job Description
Currently, we are seeking to fill the exciting role of Social Media Coordinator in our department in order to increase engagement with current and prospective students, alumni, and other influencers. In this role, you will work alongside communications, marketing, and web teams to create and implement paid and organic social media strategies for the university.
Stay front of the line by understanding current trends and making recommendations for content strategy on existing channels, as well as the creation of presence on new channels.
You will strengthen the university’s audiences through cutting edge content that is actionable, shareable, and engaging.
In this position you will collaborate with and lead other university social media account owners and users, including the Chancellor’s social platforms. You will create and maintain paid social media advertising campaigns, work with other communicators across the campuses to ensure all university social media channels are following best practices and working to grow their audiences as well.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and best practices for employing social media as an avenue for visibility and growth, experience in video production, content, or digital marketing, a degree in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field, and five years of demonstrated professional experience creating and posting social media.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree is marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated professional experience creating and posting social media.
- Experience in content or digital marketing.
- Experience in shooting and editing spot videos to accompany social posts when necessary
- The Social Media coordinator role requires an individual who is steeped in social media knowledge, planning and creativity, as well as best practices for the creation of and strategy for both paid and organic social media content.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public relations, Business or a closely related field.
