The center is available for study, meetings, weddings, memorials, showers and conferences or for rest and relaxation for the SIUE community. The Religious Center offers an oasis from the hectic pace of university activity. Situated on the south end of the campus, the Center is set in a tranquil area surrounded by trees and gently rolling hills. An outdoor
seating area is available for study, discussion, meals or rest, relaxation and reflection. The Religious Center has an alternative library of several hundred books and an assortment of periodicals on religious issues: prayer, scripture, human development, the dialogue of faith with academic disciplines like politics, economics and many other topics. Two student lounges and the library are named after three Christian martyrs of this century: Dietrich
Bonhoeffer, Martin
Luther King, Jr and Oscar
Romero.
