ATTENTION!                                                  IMPORTANT!

Satisfactory Academic Progress Regulations have changed!

Are you in danger of losing your financial aid eligibility?

  • Is your cumulative GPA below 2.0?
  • Have you dropped too many classes?
  • Have you taken too many hours?

If you answered "YES" to any one of these questions, your financial aid could be terminated.

What can I do if my financial aid is terminated?
File an appeal. If extenuating circumstances (illiness, death in the family, etc.) contributed to your lack of satisfactory academic progress, you may request an appeal. Appeal forms can be found at siue.edu/financialaid/forms.shtml.

For more information about the new policy, visit www.siue.edu/financialaid/pdf/sap.pdf.

You can always check your financial aid status on CougarNet.

The SIUE Office of Student Financial Aid can help you put together a combination of grants, student loans, parent loan, student employment,  scholarships and tuition waivers to fund your education. In 2009-2010, the Student Financial Aid office has administered more than $135 million in aid for SIUE students.

Once you're an admitted SIUE student, you can check on your personal student records through CougarNet. Once you're enrolled and financially cleared, you can find a student job through Student Employment.

Have You Filed Your 2011-2012 FAFSA?

The 2011-2012 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is currently available online. Students attending the upcoming 2011-2012 aid year should go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and complete their FAFSA. Some federal, state and institutional aid is limited by file date and/or funding, so filing early can potentially get you more aid to help cover the costs of attending college.

Remember to put the Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville School Code (001759) on your list of selected colleges.
