School Of Pharmacy Receives Full Accreditation

"Achieving full accreditation status takes true teamwork, as it occurs when the program is found to have met all ACPE standards and graduated its first class. Every one of our stakeholders—students, faculty, staff, administrators and preceptors—played a role in this achievement and should be gratified and proud their outstanding work has been recognized.”

-Dr. Philip Medon, SIUE School of Pharmacy Founding Dean

Nurturing for Life

Pharmacists improve patient care through the medicine and information they provide. In health care facilities of all types, today's pharmacists advise other medical professionals on the selection and effects of drugs. At the SIUE School of Pharmacy, our students work alongside other health professionals. This collaboration allows health care professionals to optimize drug therapy and offer the highest quality patient care.

The SIUE School of Pharmacy is quickly gaining national recognition as one of the best pharmacy programs in the country. Take a look at some of our accomplishments!

  • SIUE students placed 6th nationally for their work on educating seniors about prescription medication coverage - a recognition received by our P1 class during our first year.
  • Two SIUE pharmacy students placed in the top ten nationally at the American Pharmacist Association patient counseling competition in the past three years.
  • Two P3 students competed in and placed among the finalists in the ASHP Clinical Skills Competition last year.
  • We have students working in over 150 experiential learning sites throughout Illinois.
  • The SIUE School of Pharmacy has established clinical agreements all over central and southern Illinois, St. Louis and northern Illinois so that students can work in a variety of clinical settings.
  • Faculty in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences have been successful in competing for nationally competitive research grants from the National Science Foundation, Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy.
