Become a Moderator
The Sustained Dialogue (SD) Peer Moderator Program provides opportunities for student participation in learning and leadership experiences related to diversity and inclusion. Students participating in the SD Peer Moderator Program will learn how to use and apply effective facilitation skills, develop an understanding of how Sustained Dialogue advances diversity and inclusion, and develop an awareness of their role as ambassadors for diversity and inclusion at SIUE.
What is the Sustained Dialogue Diversity Learning Series?
The Sustained Dialogue (SD) Diversity Learning Series is a collaboration between the Office of the Provost, the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion (CSDI) and University Housing. This new and dynamic addition to our current Sustained Dialogue program will consist of monthly peer-led, high-impact educational experiences, designed to promote learning related to diversity and inclusion and to inspire students’ development of cultural self-awareness and humility.
All students are welcome to apply to serve as moderators. Between 2-4 moderators will be needed for each session. Sessions are expected to last for roughly 1.5 hours. The overall time commitment, including preparation time, will typically range between 4-5 hours for each session (assuming that the content that facilitators will be learning is new).

- Participate in the moderator training for the SD Diversity Learning Series (Dates/Times TBD)
- Complete and submit moderator reports to Sustained Dialogue Coordinator
