National Residence Hall Honorary Welcomes New Members
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville inducted six University Housing residents into the Red Storm Chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) on Sunday, April 28.
The NRHH recognizes top leaders who exhibit outstanding leadership and service in University Housing. The six students join more than 150 University Housing residents to have been inducted since 2006.
SIUE Director of Housing Michael Schultz served as the event’s keynote speaker, focusing on leadership as a pillar of NRHH.
Inductees included Alishiana Ivy, of St. Louis, Alyssa Pratz, of Wonder Lake, Amira Abuazza, of St. Charles, Mo., Breanna Wollfolk, of Bellwood, Emily Schultz, of St. Louis, Lauren Ferris, of Danville, and MacKenzie Austin, of Streator.
Family and friends of the inductees, SIUE and University Housing staff attended the induction ceremony. The event included the history and purpose of NRHH, the Red Storm Chapter and induction of the new members.
The NRHH is the recognition branch of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH). NRHH inductees are considered a member of the top one percent of residence hall leaders and are required to hold a minimum cumulative 2.5 grade point average, reside in housing for at least two semesters prior to the semester of selection, reside in housing during the semester of selection, and be a non-professional contract holding student.
