University Housing COVID-19 Updates
University Housing will align with campus expectations related to health and safety. Being part of the on-campus housing community is a valuable tool while you are a student at SIUE.
- University Housing staff will continue to provide programming and support.
- Being on-campus provides students with essential resources for their academic success. Residents have access to study space, technology resources, and other campus resources, like Dining and the Student Fitness Center.
- If coursework were to move to a virtual format for a select period, University Housing residents will continue to have access to their living unit and campus resources. Housing bill adjustments will not be made for students who choose to engage in their virtual learning at their permanent address.
COVID Expectations
- University Housing will align with campus guidance as it relates to face coverings in public spaces.
- University Housing is hosting in-person events that align with campus health and safety policies. Limited virtual events will still be available.
- Common University Housing spaces, like social and study lounges, are open for use.
- We will maintain increased cleaning and sanitization of high touch surfaces throughout the residential communities.
- Visit siue.edu/coronavirus for the most updated campus guidance and announcements.
Individuals should not return to campus if they have tested positive for COVID-19 until the IDPH-directed isolation period has concluded. If you test positive for COVID or identify as a close contact, complete a self-disclosure form.
