The University Student Insurance Committee coordinated the premium and plan benefits through Academic HealthPlans.

Waiver Process
Students who can provide sufficient proof of acceptable health coverage can submit a waiver request at My Care 26. Before you submit a waiver request you will need to confirm your SIUE email account with AHP.
Students approved for Fall term, will not need to submit a waiver for Spring or Summer terms in the same academic year.
Fall waiver period is open May 30, 2024 - September 8, 2024
Financial Aid
Student health insurance is included as a component of the estimated expenses in the University cost of attendance. While it is mandatory for students to have health insurance coverage, financial aid may be available to help cover the expense. Students who can provide sufficient proof of acceptable health coverage will have the opportunity to go through a waiver process. Including health insurance as part of the estimated expenses ensures that students are aware of the potential cost and can make informed decisions about their health coverage options while attending SIUE.
