Connecting with Faculty and Students - Fall 2023
The SIUE Experience has numerous events designed to help you build connections beginning with your first day on campus. Throughout the weekend, attending SIUE Experience events will provide you with many opportunities to interact with and learn from faculty and staff, as well as other SIUE students. A few examples of these events include:
Experience Guide Meet-ups: Each day you’ll have time with your Experience Guide, a returning student who will support you and your SIUE Experience group in your transition to SIUE. To learn more, see our page on Experience Guides.
First Year, First Night at the MUC: Join fellow first-year students in taking over the Morris University Center for an unforgettable evening, packed with laughter, entertainment and lots of fun activities!
Class Photo & Parade: Come celebrate the start of the semester with folks on campus and our SIUE Experience Team. We will parade over to the Cougar Statue by class to support our fall 2023 students as they take their traditional class photo.
Cougar Kick-Off: Come pre-game with us and then cheer on our men’s soccer team as they compete in an exhibition match, enjoy our halftime festivities, and meet folks in your campus community. Transportation to Korte stadium will be provided.
Wellness Wake-Up: Sunday morning of the Experience, we focus on well-being and self-care. There will be opportunities to get active with our Campus Recreation staff and to participate in a journaling workshop with SIUE Counseling Services.
Cougars in the Community: Did you know that Service Saturdays are a tradition on our campus? Kick off the first Saturday of the semester with our Community Engagement team and participate in one or more of our community service projects. Space is limited. Advance registration is required.
Student Socials: Events to help you connect with other students like yourself to build your support network.
Transfer and Graduate Student Welcomes: If you are a transfer or graduate student, you can expect to attend a Welcome during the Experience that is tailored to the type of student you are so that you are prepared to begin your classes. Space is limited. Advance registration is recommended.
In addition, we offer a variety of social events. For more details on our programs, please see the schedule of events.
