FAME/GAME Explorer Program
Purpose
The FAME/GAME Explorer program consists of a series of co-curricular activities designed for first-year Black students at SIUE. The program presents a variety of learning opportunities for participating Explorers and serves as a network of support for students not currently enrolled in FAME or GAME courses.
Elements of Explorer Program
- A sense of academically-engaged community for participants
- Access to culturally distinct, educational activities that excite student interest
- Exposure to information and experiences that strengthen participants' ability to successfully navigate SIUE
Program setup
The FAME/GAME Explorers will attend seven events each semester in the Eugene B. Redmond Learning Center in Lovejoy Library. In December and late April, Explorers will participate in our end-of-the-semester festivals – showcases highlighting artistic and scholarly projects produced by fellow students. The activities will include walk-through exhibits, poster presentations, and a series of audio and video compositions.
