SIU School of Dental Medicine Patient Clinics
Important COVID-19 Information
Dear Valued Patient:
The School of Dental Medicine continues to offer safe, comprehensive patient care, albeit with strict safety protocols for all students, residents, fellows, faculty, staff and patients to help ensure the health and well-being of everyone who enters the clinical environment.
Please note the following:
- We continue to follow directives from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a way to limit exposure to COVID-19. Rest assured that the most thorough and up to date cleaning and infection control processes are in place.
- Your health and the health of our dedicated faculty, staff, residents and students matters to us. With this imperative in mind, the following safety measures will be instituted:
- Confirmation calls, text, and emails to patients starting 7 days prior to appointment to rule out COVID disease symptoms.
- Initial screening of all patients on their appointment day prior to entering patient clinics.
- Screening of all students, residents, faculty, and staff prior to entering patient clinics.
- Students, residents, faculty, and staff will be in full personal protective equipment at all times while in patient clinics. While this may appear strange and off-putting, it is designed for the protection of our patients.
Patients are urged to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We can be reached by phone at 618-474-7000 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday thru Friday.
Thank you.
