Passing of Professor Emeritus Ted Frisbie
Posted February 29, 2020
We are saddened to announce the death of another SIUE Anthropology legend, Dr. Ted Frisbie, on February 24. Ted began teaching at SIUE in 1972, and was a well-known and very colorful character in the first several decades of the department’s inception. He remained a colorful and busy character in retirement – the last time we saw him, Ted said he was hard at work on his “magnum opus” on the archaeology of Chaco Canyon, and he detailed a myriad of other projects which left weaker minds spinning. Here is the link to Ted’s obituary:

We will miss Ted, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his wife, Dr. Charlotte Frisbie, Professor Emerita of SIUE Anthropology. As Ted put it so brilliantly (2006): “Life is what you make it.” We will do our best to take your advice, Ted!
