Bethany Behrhorst
Bethany Behrhorst, MPA, MA, has more than 20 years of professional experience working in communications, public relations, marketing, and local government administration. Currently, she is the administrator for Edwardsville Township. Ms. Behrhorst earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications in 1997 and an MPA in 2004, both from SIUE. She was employed in the University's Department of Marketing and Communication from 2005-2014. She also has been employed by Christian Hospital Northeast, the Alton Telegraph, the Dispatch and the Rock Island Argus, Concordia Publishing House, and Madison County, Illinois, government. Through her employment she has held positions in communications, grant writing, fundraising, HR management, and administration. She currently serves as a trustee on the board for the Village of Hamel (Illinois), and is the chair of the Village's personnel committee. Ms. Behrhorst is a Ph.D. candidate in political science at the University of Missouri St. Louis. She currently is completing her dissertation, which focuses on special purpose districts and property taxes in the State of Illinois. In her spare time, she enjoys taekwondo with her son and niece, and distance running.
