Cody Henry

Cody Henry is an active trombonist in the St. Louis Metropolitan area. He currently tours throughout the U.S. on the traditional jazz circuit, and has performed with The Dave Dickey Big Band, Jim Widner Big Band, St. Louis Jazz Orchestra, Jazz St. Louis Big Band, Birch Creek Academy Band, St. Louis Rivermen, Funky Butt Brass Band, St. Louis Low Brass Collective, Reggie Thomas, Dave Steinmeyer, Conrad Herwig, Wycliffe Gordon, Clay Jenkins, Terell Stafford, and Dennis Mackrel to name a few. He is an active jazz clinician, having contributed to Jazz St. Louis, the Birch Creek Music Academy, and the Jim Widner summer jazz camps.
Henry studied the art of arranging with Brett Stamps and Reggie Thomas. He has been commissioned to write arrangements for The St. Louis University High School Jazz Ensemble, Phil Dunlap Quintet, East St. Louis High School Jazz Ensemble, Jazz St. Louis Big Band, SIUE Concert Jazz Band, Jim Manley, Rick Haydon and Mardra Thomas. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in jazz performance from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Cody lives in Eureka, Mo., with his wife, daughter, and dog, Basie.
