Skeptical Inquirer Features SIUE’s Hupp on Pop Psychology
SIUE’s Stephen Hupp, PhD, professor of psychology, was recently featured on Skeptical Inquirer in a segment called “Investigating Pop Psychology: Pseudoscience, Fringe Science, and Controversies.”
Hupp offered his expert insight on how to resist false claims and pseudoscience of pop psychology. He covered topics including phrenology, extrasensory perception, dream interpretation, learning styles, brain training, energy psychology and the role of alternative medicine in the field of mental health.
“I’m a big fan of Skeptical Inquirer,” said Hupp. “The magazine, the online presentations, and the yearly conference in Las Vegas all do so much to promote critical thinking in a world that could use more skepticism about pseudoscience and more celebration about science.”
