What if I don't want to take FMLA, but I'm eligible?

If an employee absence meets the FMLA criteria, the employee may need to  provide the required FMLA forms and the absence will be recorded as an approved FMLA leave, as this is a form of protection for the employee. It is the responsibility of the university to offer employees this federal leave protection.  Employees who fail to provide the required medical documenation and other support may be subject to discipline.
