How long will IRB review take for my project?

IRB determination may take multiple weeks including all requested revisions. The following timelines are provided as an estimate, but please note it is impossible to determine how long a review will take:
- exempt review 1-3 weeks
- expedited review 3-6 weeks
- full board review 4-8 weeks or longer
While exempt and expedited protocols are reviewed on a continuous basis, full board protocols are only reviewed once a month during the IRB full board meeting. The deadline to submit a full board protocol is always 2 weeks before the second Wednesday of the month in which you would like it to be considered.
