About Mrs. Carroll
Caitlyn is a full-time instructor in the Department of Applied Health, program in Public Health. She really enjoyed school and dual majored at McKendree University and completed a minor in Psychology. Community programming has always been a passion of Caitlyn’s and began her career as a Center Executive at the Clinton County YMCA. While she developed the new YMCA, she completed her Master’s of Public Health through George Washington University.
While finishing her degree and working at the YMCA, she began teaching night classes at McKendree University. She then took a career detour and returned to her roots of event planning. She was an Event Specialist and Marketing Executive with an IT company and gained great marketing experience. During her time there, she began teaching part time at SIUe and knew that is where she needed to return.
After her son was born with end stage renal disease, Caitlyn began teaching full time in the Fall of 2020. She teaches a variety of public health courses.
