APPLIED RESEARCH COLLABORATIVE
The A.R.C. Initiative
The Applied Research Collaborative (ARC) is a collaboration between three area universities. ARC is comprised of the Institute for Urban Research at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Public Policy Research Center at the University of Missouri St. Louis, and Region Wise at Saint Louis University.
ARC exists to engage in greater collaboration on key issues facing the St. Louis Bi-State Region. ARC will lead to the ability to better consolidate information from an array of regional sources and become the resource for urban research and data for the area. This collaboration between area universities also offers the capacity to initiate data-based research and conduct evaluations for area organizations.
ARC's goal is to work with local governments and nonprofits to ensure community improvement efforts are more informed, better planned, and easier to implement. Research from the collaboration will help civic, nonprofit, and public decision makers in a variety of ways, including local trend data presentation and analysis, program evaluation and documentation for specific community service needs.
