Superintendent Doctorate at SIUE
SIUE's School of Education, Health and Human Behavior offers the educational leadership program. The Department of Educational Leadership at SIUE offers two programs of study leading to the Education Doctorate (EdD) in educational leadership:
- Superintendent/district-level leadership option
- General school leadership option
The superintendent/district-level leadership option is for educators who have already completed a superintendent specialist degree program. Candidates focus on advanced study of district-level leadership, school law, politics, policy-making and research.
Program Format
Courses are offered in a flexible, blended/hybrid format. For the first four semesters of the program, students are required to meet on campus one evening per week, while also completing assignments online. The final two semesters of the program are primarily independent study. The program will typically take two years to complete.
