Yes. Increased enrollment demonstrates our vitality. Increased enrollment is a source of revenue. Both will serve us well when the current horrible Republican governor is gone and sanity returns to Illinois.
it really sounds like that's where the funding is coming from...so up until the point the physical resources can't keep up with the growth.
I think the answer to this is yes, but within some limits. We need to focus on other areas besides the sciences and professional schools. There is no reason that we can't focus on boosting enrolment in areas where we have capacity. We are at our limit in some areas. However, we do have opportunities to be much more creative and less bound by tradition. We seem to be our own worst enemy in some ways by imposing 'rules' upon our selves.
