How to Make an Appointment

All students can log in to Starfish to access their Success Network, view their assigned advisor’s availability, and schedule appointments.

Steps to schedule an appointment in Starfish:

1. Log in through Blackboard or the SIUE homepage shortcut icon.
2. Select “My Success Network” to find your advisor.
3. Choose “Schedule Appointment” and select a date and time.

Express Advising

For quick questions or urgent concerns, advisors are available daily from 2:30-4 p.m. for Express Advising appointments. Appointments may be conducted in person or virtually. If your assigned advisor is unavailable, you can visit OFTA or call 618-650-3701 for assistance.

Starfish: Your Path to Academic Success

Starfish is SIUE’s advising and early alert platform that connects you with your success network — including academic advisors, success coaches, and faculty. You can schedule advising appointments through Starfish, and you may be contacted if instructors identify concerns about your academic progress. This early outreach allows your support team to work with you to develop strategies that ensure your success.
