Design Studio 3

For my final Design Studio project, I will be designing and developing a video tutorial on the use Microsoft Project 2010. I will be using Camtasia as my development tool. The idea is that the learner will open the file (most likely in WMV format) and will watch an instruction consisting of screen capture video and voice narration. The instruction will be divided into several chapters covering a variety of topics. The intended audience will be students enrolled in CMIS 540 - Project Management Fundamentals and Best Practices.

I will be using ADDIE as my project life cycle model, Morrison's systems model as my design model, and Kirkpatrick's 4 Levels model as my evaluation framework.

Goals and Objectives

Goal 1: Know the procedures for opening and saving project plans.

Objective 1.1

After viewing the instruction, the learner will be able to open a new project.

Objective 1.2

After viewing the instruction, the learner will be able to save their project.

Goal 2: Know the procedure inputting a project plan.

Objective 2.1

After viewing the instruction, the learner will be able to define the elements of the project.

Objective 2.2

After viewing the instruction, the learner will be able to input the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)

Objective 2.3

After viewing the instruction, the learner will be able to create task dependencies.

Objective 2.4

After viewing the instruction, the learner will be able to input available resources.

Goal 3: Know the procedure for generating reports.

Objective 3.1

After viewing the instruction, the learner will be able to generate a printed Gantt chart.
