How do we attract business?  How do we pay for the needed improvements in infrastructure in order to support these new developments?  Most urban centers do not have the resources, in many cases to finance the capitol improvements needed to attract new business.  Consequently, anytime that the topic of urban revitalization or development occurs, so to public financing.  The two major types of public finance are, tax increment financing and the sales of general revenue or capitol bonds.

The following are a few of the sites that deal specifically with advising and supporting public financing for new development.

Muniauction.com
This site was designed to help cities sell their municipal bonds and investments opportunities.

RV Norene & Associates.
This is a private organization that specializes in the advisement of municipal and public finance.

Kelling, Northcross & Nobriga
This organization is similar to the previous in that is specializes in the financial  advisement of public improvements.

City of Chicago
This site is unique in that it designed by a city to essentially celebrate Chicago's use of TIF financing to redevelop different parts of the city.  This site also acts as a clearing house for TIF users throughout the United States.

City of Portland
This is The City of Portland OR. web site detailing the process of TIF approval and its uses.  This web site is especially interesting because the city of Portland is generally seen a leader in city development and sustainable growth.
