Financial Assistance for ERTC Students

Students participating in the ERTC Certificate of Completion program are eligible to apply for financial aid administered through the SIUE Office of Student Financial Aid. Contact the SIUE Office of Student Financial Aid (618-650-3880) or visit Paying for College for more information on what programs are available.

Students participating in the ERTC Certificate of Completion program are eligible to apply for loans, grants and scholarships to assist with financing their education. Students enrolled in the ERTC one-year program are not eligible for Federal Title IV financial aid.

Loans

ERTC students have the option to pay for their education with alternative loans. The Office of Student Financial Aid can suggest lenders that provide alternative loans that SIUE can certify for the ERTC Program.

Grants

ERTC is also approved for funding through the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), Illinois Veterans’ Grant (IVG) and other Veteran’s programs. For more information about Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) funds, students should contact the Workforce Innovation Board (WIB) office in the county where they reside.

Scholarships

  • The St. Louis Metropolitan Sewer District (MSC) $3,500 Scholarship
  • The ERTC Legacy Scholarship - $500 Scholarship ($250/semester) for students enrolling in our Water Quality Control Program - Since 1977, ERTC has been training water quality professionals who now work throughout the nation. With the establishment of the Alumni Scholarship, we hope to help future students by easing the financial burden of class fees and tuition.
  • American Water Works Association (AWWA) Scholarships - The Illinois Section AWWA will award up to $5,000 in scholarships for the 2017-2018 academic year (including summer term 2017). Applicants must be enrolled or accepted into a water-related secondary, continuing-education or enrichment program for the academic year.  Secondary education includes water system operator training programs, water-related technical school, community college, four-year college, Masters and Doctoral programs.

For more questions regarding scholarship opportunities, contact ERTC at 618-650-2030.
