Passport Information

You must a have a current passport!

If you do NOT have a passport, you will need to apply for one immediately!  Start by getting the application online or at your nearest post office.  You will also need a passport photo.  This can be taken at many places such as Walgreens or Walmart for around $13.  I believe you need two of them.  The cost of the application is $135 for new passports or $110 for renewals and takes approximately two months to be processed. START NOW!!  Without a passport you cannot travel internationally.   Your hometown post office will help you finalize your application.  The post office in Glen Carbon processes applications and takes passport photos on certain days.

If you DO have a passport, check the expiration date.  If the expiration date is BEFORE January 15, 2019 you will need to get your passport renewed to go on this trip (see details above).  If the expiration date on your current passport is after January 15, 2019, you should be set for this trip.

Visa

You do need a visitor Visa to enter the country.  We will purchase the visitor Visa at the airport in Entebbe, Uganda when we go through customs.  The cost of this is included in your program fees.

Embassy Registration

It is required that travelers register with the U.S. Embassy in Uganda.  The US embassy in Uganda will notify us prior to and during the trip of any problems or issues.  Through the embassy, if something should suddenly arise, the US Government will know where we are in the country and they will evacuate us.  I will register the group once our travel arrangements are solidified.
