In response to the growing need in Southern and Central Illinois, as well as the nation at large, for well trained pharmacists, the inaugural class of students entered the newly created SIUE School of Pharmacy in the fall of 2005.
In May 2009, these pioneers transitioned into their professional lives and careers. Their contributions to science and health in our region will be significant, as will their economic impact on the communities where they live and work. The School is committed to graduating pharmacists ready to serve as responsible members of the health care team, transforming the lives of everyone they touch.
Private resources will allow the School of Pharmacy to continue to educate students for a profession that is in high demand regionally and nationally. As the School steadily builds its reputation, innovative clinics, state-of-the-art facilities, research, graduate and endowed programs will provide our students, faculty, staff and alumni with richer learning experiences, allowing us to graduate pharmacists who will become leaders and contributors to the health and wellness of their communities.
