Coming Soon: New YuJa Features to Streamline Your Workflow

by IDLT
Over the next few weeks, the YuJa Lumina Video Platform will introduce several enhancements designed to make video management, accessibility, and playback more efficient for both instructors and students. Here’s a quick look at what’s coming:
Easier Caption Editing—Right from the Video Player
You’ll soon be able to edit captions directly within the Video Player sidebar—no need to open the full Video Editor. This streamlined workflow makes it faster to review and update captions inline while you’re viewing your content.
Viewers Can Suggest Caption Improvements
Students and viewers will have the option to suggest caption corrections (e.g., typos or timing issues) directly within the player. These suggestions will be sent to the video owner for review, helping improve caption accuracy and overall accessibility.
Manage Your Videos Without Leaving the Player
New action buttons within the Video Player allow you to:
-
Delete or recycle videos
-
Share content
-
Publish to channels
-
Edit media
-
View video details
These updates reduce the need to navigate between pages, making video management quicker and more convenient.
Redesigned Settings Menu
The Video Player settings menu has been refreshed with a cleaner layout and grouped options for easier navigation. You’ll also find helpful additions like the ability to set the current video frame as a thumbnail and faster access to features like transcripts.
More Context Before Playback
Viewers will now see video titles and descriptions directly on the player before pressing play, helping provide context and improve engagement from the start.
Quickly Set Video Thumbnails
You can now select a thumbnail directly from the Video Player by choosing any frame in your video—giving you more flexibility in presenting your content.
Enhanced Audio Description Editor Updates
A new auto-scroll toggle in the Enhanced Audio Description Editor allows the timeline to stay synced with video playback, making it easier to edit accessible descriptions.
These updates are focused on improving accessibility, simplifying workflows, and enhancing the overall viewing experience. We’ll share more guidance as features roll out—stay tuned!
