Participants in the Upward Bound Math & Science Program receive services in the following areas:
- Instruction in English, mathematics, science, computer and foreign languages
- STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) activities
- Personal counseling
- Academic advisement and assistance
- Tutorial services
- Participation in cultural events and special academic programs
- Activities designed to explore a wide range of career opportunities
- Special instruction to prepare participants for careers in STEM fields
- A six-week residential summer program offering academic workshops and activities
- Free meals and lodging
- Free transportation
- Stipends and awards
