SIUE's Student Opportunities for Academic Results (SOAR) is an academic program dedicated to helping students excel in their educational experience.
Upon being admitted to the program, students will receive academic advising from our Academic Advisors, free tutoring from knowledgeable and experienced tutors, in addition to other services such as mentoring and professional workshops. All of these services are provided free of charge to the students to promote academic success and growth.
Dr. Earleen Patterson, our Director, and Michael Jones, our Academic Advisor, are both well-versed and experienced in academic advising. They care about their students' success and take active roles in their students' academic development. Our advisors receive grade and progress reports for SOAR students every semester and are prepared to intervene when necessary to facilitate better-quality coursework and class participation.
