SIUE's Student Opportunities for Academic Results (SOAR) is an academic program dedicated to helping students excel in their educational experience.
Upon being admitted to the program, students will receive academic advising from our Academic Advisor, free tutoring from our knowledgeable and experienced tutors, in addition to other services such as mentoring. All of these services are provided free of charge to the students to promote academic success and growth.
Our Director, Dr. Earleen Patterson and Academic Advisor, Michelle Jenkins, are well-versed and experienced in academic advising. They care about their students' success and take an active role in their students' academic development. Our advisors receive grade and progress reports for SOAR students every semester and are prepared to intervene when necessary to facilitate better-quality coursework and class participation.
