I am currently working at Scott Air Force Base, IL for DISA as a technical support agent. I troubleshoot and resolve technical issues customers have with their computers by phone, email or in person. I also get the opportunity to work with the telecom, networking, and system admins during my work day and have a chance to see what kind of duties they perform. DUTIES -Assist contract specialists, contract administrators, finance & accounting specialists, legal, and other personnel in the performance of their procurement mission by providing the automation tools neccessary to write contracts. -Issued new laptops or repair existing equipment and software whenever a problem occurs. -Support over 500 people responsible for procurement process -Assisted contract specialist and other contracting support functions with resolving office automation and contract specific software issues with applications including Procurement Desktop contract writing (PD2), Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office 2007, SharePoint). -Assisted personnel on using software in the procurement environment and ensured they they understood function keys and how to use them to automate processes. -Recovered missing files for contracting personnel. -Created trouble tickets using Remedy, for problems with systems, unauthorized access, missing files, and virus infections. -Proficient with ITSM Remedy incident and change management ticketing system. -Run message traffic, involving remote access tot he Defense Enterprise Computing Center (DECC) -Researched questions using information resources. -Redirected problems to appropriate resources. -Set up computers for new users and lifecycle replacement which included backing up data, wiping, and imaging computers. -Replaced ink and toners of printers, and installed maintenance kits. -Assisted with audio/visual equipment for conference meetings. -Worked on projects individually and as a member of the team. ![]() |
