The Durantini Lab brings together undergraduate and graduate researchers working at the intersection of photochemistry, microbiology, fluorescence imaging, oxidative stress, and functional materials.

Dr. Durantini leads an interdisciplinary research program focused on bacterial oxidative stress, antimicrobial photodynamic therapy, single-cell fluorescence microscopy, bacteriophage-photochemistry interfaces, and photoactive materials.
The group emphasizes mechanistic thinking, quantitative experimentation, and hands-on research training across chemistry, biochemistry, microbiology, imaging, and materials science.
