About The E Today
The E Today is the official source of University-wide announcements and information that pertains to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. It is a daily faculty and staff-only publication that consists of compiled information for the purpose of providing University employees with timely, relevant communication. This communique is being presented in an efficient manner, as effective March 1, 2022, distributions to the “Announce Listserv” have been limited to timely and officially sanctioned communication from University leadership that impacts all members of the SIUE community.
What can be posted?
University-related news, events, announcements and any significant policy, faculty/staff and campus changes and or appointments may be included in The E Today. Submission does not guarantee inclusion. Please refer to the Employee Listserv Policy (6B3) for more information.
What can NOT be posted?
Please refer to the Employee Listserv Policy (6B3) for more information and the code of conduct.
How can items be submitted for posting?
When sending information for inclusion in The E Today newsletter, please use complete sentences and include all degree abbreviations, when applicable. When submitting news regarding an event, include time, day, date and location, including specific room numbers and building names. Also indicate if the event is open to students, faculty, staff or the public. Submissions with incomplete information will not be posted. For news items, please include addresses or links to websites, as well as telephone numbers, email addresses and/or other relevant information. When submitting material for proposed inclusion, we ask that you provide a live, up-to-date hyperlink, if available.
All submissions will be edited for brevity, clarity and University style.
Submissions can be sent electronically to the-e-today@siue.edu.
What is the deadline for posting items?
Items should be sent to the-e-today@siue.edu at least 48 hours prior to the requested distribution start date. Our team will create a schedule of postings and add submissions into distribution as space is available.
Can photos/graphics be posted?
Links to published photos in submissions are encouraged. The editorial staff is exploring options that satisfy visual interest while upholding accessibility standards and best practices for web-based content. To ensure accessibility, photos and graphics are not typically published in The E Today, with exception of hero images and news items.
