General Assistantship (2729-2026)

Qualifications

Must be enrolled in a graduate nursing program
at SIUE.
Strong organizational skills with attention to
detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
in a healthcare setting.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and
written.
Valid driver's license.
Reliable transportation to WE CARE Clinic.
Previous experience in patient education or
community outreach is a plus.

Position Description

Data Collection & Management: Assist in
the collection, organization, and analysis of
asthma-related data to track patient outcomes
and program effectiveness.
Asthma Inventory Management: Maintain and
update asthma management inventory, ensuring
all necessary supplies (inhalers, peak flow meters
and etc.) are available and properly stocked for
patient use.
Asthma Home Visits: Support and participate in
asthma home visits by accompanying healthcare
providers to assess home environment, educate
families on asthma management, and provide
resources to improve asthma outcome.
Patient & Family Education: Assist in the
development of educational materials and
provide asthma management education to
patients and their families, under the supervision
of clinic staff.
Collaboration with Clinic Team: Work closely with
the WE CARE Clinic team to implement asthma
programs and ensure a comprehensive approach
to patient care.
