BambAI: The Animatronic Deer Decoy

The goal of our senior design project is to create an animatronic deer decoy that mimics deer behavior and make hunters more effective. Many hunters use deer decoys to help lure in deer, but these decoys can make some deer wary, because of their static nature and lack of subtle movements. BambAI solves this problem by implementing actuators to move important signaling parts of the deer in natural ways, specifically the neck, ears, and tail. The decoy also includes a scent system that applies deer scent to the decoy during the hunting day. BambAI can be controlled in the field two different ways, either with a simple remote control or it can be put into an autonomous mode. The entire system has been designed with rough handling and robustness in mind, due to the rough nature of the environment it will work in.

Our project is a low-cost prosthetic hand alternative for below elbow amputees. What makes our product unique is that it combines several different simple systems into one general purpose product capable of handling a wide variety of objects and situations for a wide variety of amputees. Our product includes: One system for handling small, complex, and delicate objects, another system for handling a wide variety of mid-range daily objects, one system ideal for buttons and screens, and one for large heavy objects. Our product seamlessly combines all of these system into one universal gripper cable of picking up and interacting with objects ranging from small screws used in glasses all the way up to a 60lb 5-gallon buckets of paint and nearly everything in between all for less than the cost of a smartphone.

The objective of the Auto-Leveling Rocket Launch Stand is to develop a rocket stand that implements a self-leveling feature on terrain with slopes of up to 15° and provide directional launch angle of up to 15° off vertical. The stand will accommodate rockets weighing up to 75 lb powered by an M-class motor and can be stored in the bed of a pickup truck.
