Nursing (Accelerated RN to BS) – Career Outlook

The School of Nursing’s Accelerated RN to BS program builds on your current nursing expertise and focuses on leadership, excellence in practice and strategies to meet the challenges of the evolving health care environment.

Research has shown a link between higher levels of nursing education and better patient outcomes. As a result of completing SIUE’s Accelerated RN to BS program, nurses develop stronger leadership skills, including communication, the importance of evidence based research, and outcomes evaluation to assist in leading change and providing quality patient care.

J.O. Kelly, Team Leader

I joined the program because it was affordable as well as convenient. The fact that all of the classes are online makes going back to school possible for me. I work full time and have two little girls at home which means I have even less time to travel to campus for classes. The SSM tuition assistance has been an invaluable resource and is greatly appreciated. I would recommend any SSM employee wishing to obtain their Bachelor’s in Nursing to join this program because the entire admissions and registration process was simple and stress-free for me. That, coupled with the fact that the vast majority of the cost has been taken care of by my SSM tuition benefit, made this choice an easy one.
