The travel study will be led by me during Spring break 2018. The focus of this travel study course will be to examine public health and environmnetal health issues in Central America and Costa Rica. During the trip we will visit national parks and discuss eco-tourism, the loss of biodiversity, conservation and the impacts on health and the environment. We will also examine the social, political and economic similarities and differences between Costa Rica and the US that impact public health.
There are THREE ways to participate in the program:
A) Academic Credit in PBHE 410-TS
B) Academic Credit as an Independent Study Elective PBHE 489-TS
C) The Study Abroad trip itself (No Academic Credit)
