SIUE Volleyball Holds Winter Clinics

SIUE Volleyball is hosting three Winter Clinics. Clinics are open to girls and boys in grades 4-12.

You can purchase all three clinics for $125 or purchase clinics individually for $45.

Dr. Robert Martin of the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago is the featured speaker for SIUE's annual Axtell Memorial Lecture in celebration of Darwin Day (Charles Darwin’s birthday).

Phi Kappa Phi Book Exchange, Jan. 31 and Feb. 1

The SIUE Chapter 203 of the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society is sponsoring a book exchange during the spring semester:

Members of the SIUE community are invited to bring a book, take one from the inventory available or get a coupon to use later. Book purchases can also be made for a nominal cost.

Future book exchanges are scheduled for Feb. 28, March 1, April 4 and April 5, with the same hours and location.

We are pleased to announce that 2016 W-2’s are ready and available on-line through CougarNet (Banner Self Service)!

If you have already signed up to receive your W-2 on-line through CougarNet you may log in, view and print your W-2 for 2016 (and previous years if applicable).

• Select the Printable W-2 button at the bottom of the screen to print your W-2.
• Print multiple copies for submission to federal, state and local entities, if needed.
• Review Help Text (top right corner) for information on how to print an approved format for different web browsers and for a brief description of each of the codes that may be listed in Box 12 of your W-2.

If you did not sign up for this early on-line method, you may sign up now through CougarNet or a paper W-2 will be mailed to you at the end of the month.

Saturday Studio Art Workshops Begin on Feb. 11

Saturday Studio Art Workshop are set for:

Saturdays, Feb. 11-April 22
No classes March 11 or April 1

Studio instruction is once again being offered for grades K-12 students.
All classes are designed to stimulate creative growth. Emphasis is placed on developing skills in a variety of media and in generating ideas for creative expression.

Art teachers in Saturday Studio classes are becoming certified art specialists and are art majors in the Department of Art and Design.
All sessions will be held in the Art and Design West building on SIUE’s campus.

SIUE’s 5th annual Dance Marathon is five weeks away.

The students of Dance Marathon of SIUE challenges everyone to donate $5. Your money will help children at Greater St. Louis Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to receive the best treatments and care available.

Housed in the Department of Educational Leadership within the School of Education, Health and Human Behavior, the College Student Personnel Administration (CSPA) program provides an educational opportunity for student affairs employees or anyone interested in pursuing a career in higher education or student affairs.

The program will prepare graduates to assume entry- to mid-level student affairs or higher education administration positions in two-year or four-year public and private institutions. Occupations in this category include directors and other positions in multiple areas in colleges and universities, such as financial aid, advising, service learning, Greek life, residential life and international programs.

Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society Announces its Awards Season

The Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society -- SIUE Chapter 203 is announcing the opening of its awards season. Phi Kappa Phi is seeking student applicants for:

  • Undergraduate Scholarship ($1,000)
  • Undergraduate Paper Competition (prizes of $200, $100 and $50)
  • Graduate Fellowship ($1,000 from SIUE PKP Chapter; forwarded to national office for additional fellowships)

If you are a student or know students who should apply, please consider these opportunities.

The application deadline is March 17.
