Lovejoy Library invites and encourages school groups and others to visit and use its facilities and resources. Instruction sessions are important components of both the University's and Library’s missions. Lovejoy Library’s web pages are accessible to anyone. Selected resources are also available to anyone including Our Library Catalog , the statewide academic catalog. Librarians or teachers may arrange for students to visit Lovejoy Library. We encourage teachers to coordinate with their school librarians. These visits are intended to build on the skills learned in school and public libraries and should focus on those aspects which are required for the students to locate information for their independent study projects. Additional information is available about instruction sessions and Lovejoy Library's learning objectives for outreach.

In order to make the most of your class visit, note the following guidelines and tips which have been developed to assure a positive learning experience for all. A maximum of 25 students can be accommodated at a single session. The school librarian and/or teacher must accompany and remain with the group.

SIUE faculty, staff, and students have priority in the use of Lovejoy Library resources, services, and facilities. Some resources are restricted to SIUE faculty, staff, and students or on-campus use

To schedule a campus tour, contact the Office of Admissions. To request additional information for prospective students interested in attending SIUE, use the Office of Admissions' referral form.
