An endowment for Lovejoy Library’s collections is vital to expanding the current collections and preserving the prized collections that are already held, including the National Ragtime and Jazz Archive, the Hap Meyer Soccer Collection and the Eugene B. Redmond Collection. There are more than 160,000 titles published each year. Existing funds allow the Library to purchase less than five percent of these new titles.
Creation of an endowment for Lovejoy Library’s collections will generate powerful new and complementary acquisitions, provide ongoing support and preservation for existing collections, allow for detailed cataloging and expand the valuable academic resources available for the user. The endowment will provide a significant and permanent contribution to expanding the Library’s collections and the ability to meet users’ needs.
