The National Corn-to-Ethanol Research Center at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is seeking applications for Ethanol Plant Operating Coordinators. These positions are temporary and will last until the assigned projects and/or client trials are completed. Traditional benefits are not offered. Job Description/Responsibilities
The Ethanol Plant Operating Coordinator is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of equipment and associated control mechanisms of an ethanol plant. They assist in operating and troubleshooting mechanical control systems, utility equipment, and other laboratory research mechanical components commonly associated with various fermentation, distillation, dehydration, and grain handling processes in this facility. They work closely with clients to maintain specified research protocols within a strict business confidentiality environment.
Minimum Qualifications
1. High School Graduation or equivalent.
2. Any combination totaling three years (36 months) from the following categories:
(a) work experience in renewable fuels, chemicals, refining, brewing or research plant
operations, which includes experience in grain handling operations, fermentation/
distillation/dehydration processes, utility operations, and related laboratory techniques
associated with plant operations.
(b) college coursework as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional
equivalent:
• 60 semester hours or Associate Degree in Process Operations Technology (or related
program) equals two years (24 months)
• 90 semester hours in Process Operations Technology (or related program) equals
three years (36 months)
OR
• 120 semester hours or a Bachelor Degree in mechanical or industrial engineering.
Salary
$18.60 per hour
