Managing Projects and Repeated Work with AI - Virtual Session
Time: 8:30am - 12:30pm (CT)
Instructor: Office Productivity
Fee: $ 250
Course Description (Half-day program)
Once you are comfortable using AI for individual tasks, the next challenge is learning how to use it effectively for work that takes more than one prompt. This intermediate course focuses on using AI to support larger projects and repeated work without constantly starting over, repeating instructions, or using more AI resources than the task requires.
Participants work through a realistic workplace project from beginning to end. They learn how to define the desired outcome, provide the right context and reference information, break larger work into manageable stages, and decide where AI can provide useful support. At each stage, participants review and verify results before moving the work forward.
The course also explores ways to make repeated work more efficient. Participants learn when to continue an existing conversation, when to start fresh, what information AI actually needs, and how reusable instructions and reference information can reduce repeated effort. The emphasis is on giving AI enough relevant context to do the work well without overwhelming the task with unnecessary information or repeatedly regenerating work that is already useful.
The goal is not to automate every step. It is to develop a more organized and intentional way of working with AI while keeping human judgment and decision-making at the center.
Recommended prerequisite: Participants should have some experience using a generative AI tool and be comfortable writing and refining basic prompts.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Plan how AI can support a larger project or repeated workplace task.
- Break complex work into manageable stages and determine where AI can help.
- Provide the right context, instructions, and reference information for the task.
- Decide when to continue, refocus, or start a new AI conversation.
- Reuse instructions and information to make repeated work more efficient.
- Recognize when reusable context, instructions, or a more persistent AI environment can make repeated work more efficient.
- Use AI more efficiently by providing relevant context, reducing repeated work, and avoiding unnecessary regeneration.
- Review and verify AI-generated results before moving to the next stage of the work.
Technology requirement: Features such as projects, workspaces, and AI assistants vary by platform, subscription, and organizational settings. Exercises can be adapted to the AI tools approved by the organization.
