Practical AI for Everyday Work - Virtual Session
Time: 8:30am - 12:30pm (CT)
Instructor: Office Productivity
Fee: $ 250
Course Description (Half-day program)
Learn practical ways to use generative AI to support everyday workplace tasks while keeping human judgment and decision-making at the center. Participants work through a connected workplace scenario as they summarize information, improve communication, organize ideas, work with data, and create useful work products.
This tool-neutral course is designed for organizations using a variety of generative AI tools or for participants who want practical AI skills that transfer across platforms.
The course focuses on skills that work across different AI tools rather than one specific product. Participants learn how to provide useful context, ask stronger questions, refine and continue AI conversations, and recognize when a polished response may still be incomplete or inaccurate.
Participants also learn how to review AI-generated results, protect workplace information, and follow organizational policies for approved AI tools. The course concludes with a brief look at how instructions and reference information can be reused to support repeated work and create a more consistent AI experience.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Identify workplace tasks where generative AI can provide useful support.
- Create stronger requests using context, clear instructions, constraints, and desired output.
- Use AI to summarize, organize, draft, revise, and explore workplace information.
- Use AI to support basic data review and identify questions or patterns worth investigating.
- Refine and refocus AI conversations as work becomes more complex.
- Review AI-generated content for accuracy, missing context, and unsupported assumptions.
- Use workplace information responsibly within organizational AI policies.
Technology requirement: Features vary by AI platform, subscription, and organizational settings. Exercises can be adapted to the AI tools approved by the organization.
