Welcome! My name is Samantha Steinmann. I am a student at Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville . I am just as passionate about my minor as I am about my major; which is Applied Communication Studies with a focus in Public Relations. As a young professional, I am excited to graduate in December of 2016.
In a world where Social Media is a dominating factor in people’s everyday life, I feel that people sometimes use it only for personal use, and stray from using it on professional level. I believe that Social Media should be embraced and used to the fullest extent. This belief is the reason why I chose the career track that I have chosen. I am driven to promote events and products in a fun, unique way.
Behind the student is a Midwestern girl. I was born and raised in the small town of Hamel, Illinois, just across the river from St. Louis, Missouri. In the fall of 2012, I attended Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. There, I was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, Richmond Residential College Council, and was briefly a member of Murray State’s Alumni Association. I transferred to Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville in the spring of 2014. I currently work at the Edwardsville YMCA, where I was promoted to the title of Lead Desk Staff.
